CKEditor for SharePoint 1.1 Released!
It is a great pleasure to announce the latest release of CKEditor for SharePoint, a unique solution that integrates the most popular online editor in the world into Microsoft SharePoint. CKEditor for SharePoint 1.1 is a maintenance release that includes the latest versions of CKEditor and CKFinder, a handful of bug fixes as well as new features, including improved localization support.
Making CKEditor for SharePoint Even More Stable
This release contains a few fixes for issues that were reported after the initial release of the product back in November 2010. Even tighter integration with SharePoint and ironing out some of the solution administration and configuration issues mean that CKEditor for SharePoint 1.1 is a more stable and mature product that can be integrated into any SharePoint 2007 and 2010 environment and successfully replace the limited built-in editor of these platforms.
CKEditor and CKFinder Updated
CKEditor for SharePoint 1.1 contains the latest and greatest versions of our flagship products, CKEditor 3.5.2 and CKFinder 2.0.2, that have been released in February 2011. Among the enhancements you can find support for resizable dialog windows and iframe element, Internet Explorer 9 RC compatibility as well as many other improvements introduced in CKEditor 3.5 line.
Improved Localization Support
If your SharePoint environment natively uses a language other than English you may be happy to hear that the localization process for CKEditor for SharePoint has just been improved. Please note that CKEditor and CKFinder are already distributed with multi-lingual interface, so all that is left for you to localize are the language strings used in the SharePoint integration. The steps required to achieve this are described on the official product documentation site for SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010.
