CKEditor Weekly for February 18, 2014
We're back with another edition of CKEditor Weekly. The CKEditor documentation site got a couple of new sections, some old things were changed or moved, and CKEditor 4.3.3 is well on track to being released on time. Read on for more...
CKEditor in review
-
The documentation site got a few more updates.
-
Basic CKEditor Concepts has been added to the documentation! It covers the more obvious topics of What CKEditor Is, What CKEditor Is Not and How CKEditor Works. WYSIWYG editors are often the victim of misconceptions, so this information should clarify a few things.
-
Framed Editing has finally been renamed to Classic Editing throughout the documentation. The old term didn't quite get the job done.
-
Documentation on Specifying the Editor Path was added for people who need to change the name of the ckeditor.js script.
-
The File Browser section was also moved from the Configuration section to Integration (the links are the same though).
-
-
CKEditor 4.3.3 is coming along nicely and on schedule. Development will most likely close a week from now. Only three issues still need resolving, two of which are in review. You can see the roadmap here.
Around the Net
-
Sefa Karagöz released a content management system called sf CMS written in Laravel (PHP) that includes CKEditor.
-
A YouTube video in Thai was released showing how to enable and configure CKEditor in Joomla.
That's it for this week. If you would like to be featured in one of our CKEditor Weeklies, or have an interesting tidbit that relates to CKEditor, leave a comment below or contact us!
