CKEditor 5 v47.3.0 Release Highlights: CKEditor AI Improvements and Bug Fixes

This release introduces stability-oriented updates to the AI feature as well as bug fixes.

CKEditor 5 v47.3.0 focuses on usability refinements to make AI features easier to navigate, clearer in previews and more informative when issues occur. These improvements help both end users and developers more confidently work with AI tools in everyday editing scenarios.

# IMPROVED CKEditor AI 

Introduced in v47.2.0, CKEditor AI brings integrated AI capabilities directly into the editor, including AI Chat, AI Review, and AI Quick Actions. This embedded approach helps users ideate, refine, and transform content without leaving their writing environment. CKEditor AI also supports multiple models and flexible integrations, giving developers a production-ready, customizable AI stack built right into CKEditor.

This release brings several enhancements to CKEditor AI aimed at enhancing the overall user experience:

#Faster Access to Quick Actions

AI Quick Actions provide one-click, context-aware transformations such as rewriting, summarizing, translating, or adjusting the tone of selected text.

Because AI Quick Actions are fully customizable and integrators can add their own, the dropdown can grow quite long, making it harder to locate a specific action. To improve this, the dropdown now includes a built-in search field that filters actions as you type.

Integrators can toggle this feature with the config.ai.quickActions.isSearchEnabled setting.

#Refinements across reviews and previews

• Track Changes markers that are unrelated to AI suggestions now appear in gray inside AI balloon previews, aligning the preview with how markers look in the chat panel.

• Retrying an AI Review now always uses the latest state of the document, preventing outdated context from slipping into the process.

#Improved error handling

Backend error messages are now more informative, making it easier to pinpoint issues if something goes wrong during an AI request.

#Other updates and improvements

This release continues the Long-Term Support Edition guarantee introduced previously: v47.3.0 contains no breaking changes, and the Active LTS will remain stable until it enters the maintenance phase in April 2026.

Because some larger improvements cannot ship until after that point, we are also offering a set of optional experimental flags and plugins. These previews let developers try upcoming changes early without affecting the stability or compatibility of the main editor. More details are available in the documentation.
