Yes, it's good advice, although it seems that the forum has deleted the end of your message:
Before you post, please check all the previous post without a response, you might be able to help some of that people as you expect other people to help you. As a bonus benefit, while reading previous post you might be able to find the answer to your post, because you can bet that in a forum with nearly 9.000 posts someone else might have asked something very similar previously.
Of course, if you really need help you just have to put "I need an urgent reply", "please answer asap", or just bump your topic every hour because no one has replied you. That's a good way to get the people that might be able to answer advanced topics get bored and don't bother replying to that same old topics over and over again and having to argue about why a bug hasn't been fixed or if this forums should be aimed at people with zero knowledge about programming.
