hello everyone,
I've had a little look around but can't see anything which specifically helps me, so ...
I use the Mailgust forum software which was designed for fck 1.6 and sadly seems unable to work with later versions,
However, I can't offer the fck option to my users because although IE6 performs fine, Firefox does not.
So, what does IE have that Firefox lacks? Is it a javascript issue?
I'd be very grateful if anyone can tell me specifically how I can get this fixed, assuming it is possible.
thanks a lot,
lee

RE: version 1.6 / firefox
maybe I could swing to another perspective:
Can anyone tell me how to amend the latest version of fckeditor so that it can be called in exactly the same way as version 1.6? I'm thinking about php classes, presumably ...?
This way, I could take advantage of the latest browser compatibility and presumably it would work on Mailgust, which was designed to work with fck 1.6.
thanks,
lee
RE: version 1.6 / firefox
Firefox and IE have very different API to manage real-time modifcation and detection of changes on a web page (like the selection detection and so on).
So they need 2 different set of JS commands to work on the same application.
FCKeditor 1.x has been built just for IE
Now FCKEditor was designed to work with IE and FF... but if you look inside yiu will notice that it's 2 applicantion... all JS code is different.
RE: version 1.6 / firefox
thanks for your reply;
Trouble is, the latest fck versions will not work with my forum software Mailgust;
I was guessing this was to do with php classes (or something) but maybe Mailgust now needs different handling for the javascript changes you mentioned?
Maybe you could please have a look at my post here which has a little more detail:

RE: version 1.6 / firefox
You just need to copy the editor and everything should work.

RE: version 1.6 / firefox
As on my other thread you just replied to, it sounds then that what you said there may well be the issue.
