use smiley in oFCKeditor.Value

Hello,
When i use the propertie Value (oFCKeditor.Value =) i cant put a value with smiley. for example, i save a text maked with FCKeditor in my DataBase. When i put this same text in the properie valu it's doesn't work if there is smiley in my text...i dont hunderstant, an idea here plz ?
