ugly code

I have been pasting code into FCK editor in plone, the original code being created by Dreamweaver. When I copy the code into FCK editor it looses its pretty formatting (html indentation conventions) and becomes difficult to edit. Is there a preference I can set to keep this from happening. Perhaps the code needs to go through a laundering utility of some kind on the way over?
