Hi,
Mozilla 1.3 is a very old - I don't think it really started stabilising until 1.6 ... I would suggest you download either Firefox 1.0 or Mozilla 1.7
Also, please try the online demo and let us know if that works.

If you download Firefox 1.0, which as Ben says doesn't seem to detect JS file changes, you can get the WebDeveloper extension which lets you switch cacheing on and off very easily.
