problems on wiki

I'm using fck on mediawiki and followed the directions from :
http://mediawiki.fckeditor.net/index.php/FCKeditor_integration_guide

When I attempt to edit a page I can see that the block is large enough (the next text on the page doesn't appear for 550 pixels or so), but the area to edit remains 1 line. What's the problem?

I'm using Safari or Firefox.
