php path is killing me...

I have a site http://www.domain.com where I have an oscommerce
ecommerce installation. The catalog sets in
http://www.domain.com/catalog, but since I want people to go
straight to the catalog I set up httpd.conf to set the
root dir for this site to http://www.domain.com/catalog. This
works fine except that I can't get FCKeditor to work.
I have gotten it to the place where the page with the
text to be edited displays, but the area where the
FCKeditor should display is blank and I can't seen to
get a combination of paths and directory locations
where it works.
BTW, I set up a site that does not do this redirect and
the whole thing works perfectly....
Has this problem been encountered before?
