FCKeditor is targeted to developers, it's just a tool to be able to edit html easily instead of using a plain textarea, but you must do the work to open the files and save them back, as there are too many different ways to do it. If you don't want (or don't know how) to do that work, then search for a CMS that fits your needs.
PS: you can always look at the _samples to understand how it works.
I too am a new user tryong to figure out how to browse and open files - and would apprecialte some real help.
Question - what is the point of development if it is never useful to an end user - wouldn't that be the point of the deveopment? And if you are rude to end users - and give them no help as was done here - how will you know what the software really needs.
Anyone out there want to tell a newbie how to get the file browser to work?
So you'd rather that I would have let him struggle for some time until he gives up in frustration instead of pointing out that FCKeditor might not be the correct tool for his needs?
That's a strange way to help end users if they now are forced to learn PHP or any other server scripting language to edit their webs instead of using a simple desktop tool that can do all the work for them.
never mind, thanks for the bit of help. I got wordpad working like I was trying to get it to, and I got Jarte... which is really weird but it might work too.
