I tried that allready, the link applied only to the first letter.. mybe it's because I'm writing in hebrew.. edit1: I tried in english same thing edit 2: solved it by first writing the text and then applying the link to it (I thougnt I tried that allready)
As I said, I don't have any problem to edit an existing link, so it might be something about your environment, mixing RTL, with LTR and the browser that you're using. Anyway, although I don't know anything about RTL, I know that one of the developers uses Hebrew so it's strange that such bug hasn't been noticed, but there are many subtle details with RTL.
to be sure I checked other browser the problem I decribed was in chrome. I checked in FireFox and this time writing new text removed the link completely
I would have checked with IE but my IE having problems for the last month
