I am converting a site from my own php coded site to Wordpress so that the owners can edit their own material with the help of CKEditor.
All is fine except that I need them to be able to edit one of the widgets on the site because it is regularly updated and I can't see anyway of them editing the widget using CKEditor.
I am not happy about them fiddling with the widget code but if there is a way of them editing the widget with CKEditor that would solve my problem.
Is it possible?

About what widgets do you write ? Do you use any plugin to this 'widgets'.

However while I can edit text using CKEditor i can't work out how to edit widgets.
The wordpress theme I am using is Weaver II Pro and I use widgets made available within that theme.

I looks that you use not free theme , so maybe you should search help from theme developers .
In this moment there is no support in our plugin for mentioned widgets.
