how the Style or Font or Size dropdowns of FCKEditor work

Hi All,

Could anyone please tell how the Style or Font or Size dropdowns of FCKEditor work. because in earlier posts of i have mentioned i need to create a my own dropdown list which contains data from database. When user selects the dropdown item, the selected item should appear in the form of hyper link. So fo this i need find the cursor location and at that location this hyperlink should be created. For this i would like to know the functionality of these things.
