exasperated with asp connector and absolute url's

I want to use the fckeditor to send emails to my mailing list. everything is set up and working fine, except I can't get it to give me absolute instead of relative url's. when I try to configure it I get a bunch of xml errors. Can anyone explain to me exactly where to change the asp connector with an example? The documentation is incredibly confusing.
