difficulty uploading swf files

Hello, we are having problems uploading swf files via the flash button. We managed to upload one of 1k but when we try a 2mb one, it takes a long time, says it has uploaded, but nothing actually has.

The other file types seem to work fine. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what i can do? the server allows uploads of 8mb so it isn't that.
