Single quotes, which are html attributes are replaced by double. A double quotes in single quotes are replaced by the ".

config.entities = false;

does not help

How to turn this off???

You can't disable it.

You can't disable it. It's a part of serializing algorithm. Why it bothers you? If you don't like entities, use double quotes with singe quotes inside.

By the way, why don't you use [placeholder] attribute (with a polyfill for old browsers, mostly IE8-9)?
