You could try changing those apostrophes on that line to '
If that doesn't work, try putting the script part into a CDATA section, it should then be ignored by the XSLT processor.

I think putting it in CDATA tags wont help cause he has this in his xsl:output
cdata-section-elements="xsl:comment"
remove that first before putting it in cdata tags...
