Hi,
I'm trying to integrate FCKeditor with our in-house CMS, but not just for editing articles; we want some sort of WYSIWYG editing for the site templates.
This means that we'll be editing fragments of HTML (actually, XHTML-MP) which might be incomplete. For instance, I might want to edit the template for elements in a list, so the template will start with a <LI> tag and end with an </LI> tag.
I have tried this, but FCKeditor wraps the template in a <UL> tag, and that's not what I want. I would also be fantastic that I could edit fragments that start with a typical HTML header (<html><head>...<body>) and have the first elements of the HTML page, but no closing tags for the body, etc. tags.
Has anyone tried anything of this sort? I'm using the Java integration, if that helps.
Alex

Right now I'm using a plain textarea to edit "difficult" templates (such as those including unbalanced tags, nasty tags, etc.) and FCKeditor for "simple templates"- solution we'll settle for at the moment, unless we find something better.
