Use As Plain Text Editor?

Hi,
This may seem odd but...

I need to be able to use the FCKEditor as a plain text editor...
ie - no toolbar, no html formatting, etc.
Is there a way to get it to render as such through the clever use of config options and the like.

If anyone out there has done such a thing, please point me in the right direction.

Isn't <textarea></textarea> just the description of your needs?

It most certainly is...however, for political reasons I would prefer not to go into, I need to avoid that option if possible.

But do you realize that FCKeditor is built upon the standard HTML elements so if you want to disable HTML markup and toolbars you would end any way with just a textarea and lots of useless javascript around?

I just can't think about how to disable the html capabilities of FCKeditor without switching to source mode.

You are forgetting about features, such as search&replace and the like!
They could be very usefull in certain scenarios, where you need to edit files other than html (e.g. ini-files)

So, for me the question is still open. Does anybody know or have a solution?
