Would someone be able to point me in the right direction for removing some of the tools in the toolbar for my PHP installation. I also wish to add some custom buttons of my own as well...
I can see how to do it for the JS version, but PHP?

Currently it is impossible to pass anything other than the basic JavaScript types in PHP configuration file (you can't pass array).
So to customize toolbar set to your needs you should edit fckconfig.js file and add your own definition:
Then in your PHP file, add something like that:
before
check sample files included in FCKeditor for more examples.

How can I put the code, also in PHP, in a form field, so that when start of FCKeditor opens up collapsed and not opened?
