Tab as FormatIndentator

Does anyone know how to set tab as FormatIndentator? It seems that \t doesn't work?
any ideas?

It does work for me

FCKConfig.FormatIndentator = '\t' ;

Can you test with something like 'xyz' to check that the changes are picked up?

I am trying to maintain a new line character as the FormatIndentator, but it does not seem to work. Anything I set as FormatIndentator does not reflect. Any idea as to why?
