Hello,
I am having a problem with the spellchecker in FCKeditor 2.6.4 in a MediaWiki. I just upgraded the editor from an older version which was also not working correctly. The spellchecker works great in FireFox, it connects to the spellchecker.net site and performs a spellcheck as it should. In IE though the Spell Check box loads with my text in it but the connection to spellchecker.net does not seem to work. I noticed in the lower left corner of IE that there was an error symbol. When clicking on the symbol I get the following error information.
Line: 41
Char: 2
Error: Permission denied
Code: 0
URL: http://h1.spellchecker.net/spellcheck2/script/ssrv.cgi
I am running IIS in isapi mode but since Firefox is working I don't believe this is an issue. Could there be some options (security) enabled in IE that are preventing the connection to spellchecker.net. I am open to any sort of ideas at this point. I have 2 different MediaWikis that show this same problem only in IE. Of course I would love to tell my users not to use IE but that's not an option.
Thanks,

Re: Spellchecker not working in IE
this exact thing happens to me. any ideas? here are some screenshots:
Re: Spellchecker not working in IE
The problem were reported from several customers and we have tried to reproduce it in various environments. The only configuration we are able to reproduce it is IE6 with disabled navigation sub-frames across different domain (Menu-> Tools -> Internet Options -> Security Tab -> Internet -> Custom Level -> Miscellaneous Section -> Navigate sub-frames across different domain -> Disable). Disable is not default value for this parameter. It can be easily re-set by clicking "Default Level" button for "Internet Zone" in the Internet Options dialog Security Tab.
