Sometimes filemanager is empty

I run FCKeditor in a CMS on Apache with PHP5. Yesterday I got this problem third time. I tried different things, 3-4 hours, like browser close and relogin (in my CMS), clear the browser cache, delete utf-8 BOM and so on. Nothing helps, no files in filemanager. Only a restart of the client (Win 2000, first one it was on XP), last 2 times it was the same, shows the files again. I think there is a problem between client-server communiation. But what could it be? Why help a restart and not clearing browser cache? Is there a session or an ip cache or something like this? What can I do against? Has everyone notice this problem too?

Is there a caching proxy server between you and the webserver?

No, only my dsl modem. Do you think it could be the connection to my provider? The problem is, if I have this problem, users of my CMS can have it too. So I'm looking for answers, I can tell them or write in a FAQ. There are any caches in the internet who produce connection problems with XML or something like this?

I've seen that issue with some of the major dialup ISPs like AOL and NetZero.

Did everybody know where I can place an alert to show the user, that there is a problem with client-server communication? At the time there are no errors, only a blank filemanager.
