Scrubbing data from Word clean

When importing from Word or OO-Writer I would like to see a checkbox for extensive cleaning (to remove font definitions and other crap). Is that a built-in option or would this need some custom scripting? No plans to add this in the core in any future version either?

Did you already try: Paste, Paste as plain text and Paste from Word?

Yes; but what I need is something in between: valid XHTML should be preserved (links, lists, etc...) but outdated elements like fonts and tags which are useless without CSS (div, span, ...) should be removed.

Did you find a solution for your Problem? I also have to remove all useless <font>-Tags from pasted-Word-data. But not as "PlainText"... formatting sould be converted to <span>...
