Thanks guys... glad you got pasted my bad grammar . It was suppose to say that "I couldn't test it".
Fred do you know what Safari returns for JavaScript command appName? I'd like to write special code for it.
Also I'm not sure if it necessarily wont work Safari, the code just might not be told to work with it.
For example, if you run a local proxy on your desktop, and then tell IE to run through that proxy, tell your proxy to lie to all servers that it is Media Player when youd open the FCKeditor in IE it will not load the rich text editor even though it truly can. It starts up in Source mode too because it doesnt know its IE.
Where in the code does the FCKeditor determine the browser and then the code to run? Maybe we can simply just add Safari to the list. But that brings up another question. Does Safari follow the Mozilla realm, or is it in a class of its own?
From what I've been reading, Safari doesn't support the special editable areas that FCKeditor needs to run. At least, not yet it doesn't. I've heard that in 2.0 it will be offering some sort of support.
Safari, by the way, is not a gecko browser like Mozilla is. It's actually closer to a Linux browser called Konqueror, which was co-developed with KHTML. I've found that both of these browsers can be a HUGE pain to code for, too.
RE: Safari browser
It is starting in source mode.
RE: Safari browser
No Safari support mentioned...
