Hello,
I have successfully installed FCK Editor on local machine. It is inside asp.net application. It works OK. Now I deployed it to shared hosting and there is security problem.
Error I get is:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Security Exception
Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy. To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file.
Exception Details: System.Security.SecurityException: System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I can reproduce this error even on local machine. It is enough to add <trust level="Medium" /> in web.config inside <system.web> tags.
Did anyone face this error, and how did you solve it.

RE: Problem with medium trust / shared hosting
Thanks.

RE: Problem with medium trust / shared hostin
I talked to the hostingcompany, and they asked if the FCKeditor is written for asp.net 1.1 or 2.0. My hosting is for 2.0 and I also write 2.0 code, but maybe the FCKeditor ASP.NET integration package is for 1.1?
I followed the instructions on Wiki to the letter (also granting read/write right to the UserFiles folder), but no matter what I do, I can't get it to work.
Can anyone help?
Emiel
RE: Problem with medium trust / shared hostin
You can find a solution in the tickets of the development site: http://dev.fckeditor.net/ticket/415
RE: Problem with medium trust / shared hostin
I tried your solution, but I keep getting an error with the conversion. Something about unable to convert a file (the .csproj) because it's unable to parse it. Maybe I need some more detailed instructions about how to do this. (I use VWD, by the way, not VS2005)
Thanks,
Emiel
RE: Problem with medium trust / shared hostin
If you can't convert that project to VWD you could try to create it from the provided files, it shouldn't be hard, or ask in that ticket if someone can upload a compiled dll until the new official one is released (I can't, I don't use VS 2005).
