So I read the "tutorial" at http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php? ... _id=257180 and I can get that to work. Now my problem is I want to have a plugin that works with the text/whatever is selected rather than just a dialog box. I downloaded a plugin that uses selection, but it had no readme so I figured the installation was the same, put an .add statement into the config and add it to a toolbar so it can display.
This didn't work, I am wondering if there is a separate/different procedure for installing plugins that use the selection method rather than the dialog box.
Thank you.

RE: Plugins with selected rather than dialog
Well, I went back in these forums and found a step-by-step on how to do what I'm looking for eg. non-dialog based plugins. Problem is I followed the directions to the letter and when I load my page the fck editor doesn't show at all. This is the guide I followed: http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3091867 . Is this out of date and not work anymore? Is there anywhere else that will tell me how I can do this?
Thanks!
RE: Plugins with selected rather than dialog
my ajaxPost plugin can work without a dialog, perhaps you can check its code. There's not much difference actually, only the way you reach the config, Language object and API. Check the files 'fckplugin.js' and 'ajaxPost.js', but of the latter only the Object constructor will be of any interest to you I guess (lines 14-19)
