I have been at this for about three hours, and cannot get the plugin to appear. I have tried the beta, and one prior. I download via FireFox b/c IE gives me a security warning, and, as I found out, was only downloading some files. The size on disk of the unzipped fckeditor folder is (3,220,480 bytes). I upload to my plugins folder, and it just does not show up. Argg. I upload using WinSCP, the same as for all of my others, which all work fine. It's set to automatic mode. I cannot find any info on this, which makes me think that this is me. I would really appreciate any help. I've tried putting the folder in the root, and changing case. Right now, it's in plugins folder, with the special caps.

I found an older version, 2.2, and installed it just fine. I am not doing anything out of the ordinary here with 2.5 beta. I get the zip file, and unzip it into my plugins directory. Via FTP, I confirm that there is an "fckeditor" folder, and in it appear to be all of the right files. Normally, I'd just stop here, and virtually any other plugin would show up in Wordpress's "Plugin Management" screen. But fckeditor does not. I see the fckeditor.php file. I see the fckeditor.js file both in the fckeditor directory. I'm not sure what you mean below by whether I. I have not modified any files at all. I don't know why I don't even see the plugin in the plugins screen to activate it. I cannot atiavate the plugin b/c it is not even showing up as avaialble.
I'd very much welcome any follow up. Thanks in advance.

This leads me to believe that you're not trying to implement an FCKEditor plugin. This is probably confusing people because the FCKEditor also has its own plugins. Unfortunately I've never used wordpress so I don't have a solution for you but my suggestion is that this post may be better suited for the wordpress forum or reworded to imply an initialization problem in wordpress for more results.

Thank you for making up where I lack Lake. You are correct. I am not trying to implement an FCKeditor plugin; rather, the FCKeditor plugin for Wordpress. I assumed that the downloads avaiable at http://www.fckeditor.net/download were the zip files for a plugin that would be compatible with Wordpress. Now, as I look (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/dea ... ss-plugin/), perhaps 2.2 is the latest version that works with Wordpress, though there is a link to 2.4.3, which is why I am confused. The "Download plugin" button appears to call up 2.2.
