I am using FCKeditor with a CMS called Website Baker. I have a couple of problems with it, which don't stop me using it but are a bit of a nuisance.
When I cut/paste from a text document in OpenOffice FCKeditor inserts a mass of extraneous styling information which makes a complete mess of the page styling via my css file. I am using Linux, Firefox and OpenOffice normally but the same thing happens on my Windows machine if I try it. I can always add the text in source mode but the site is intended for use by non-technical editors so I would rather not have to explain this.
Also if I type information in using the editor it inserts <div> tags for each paragraph rather than <p>. This also upsets my page styling as I prefer using <p> when it is semantically correct, i only use <div> for different sections of a page. So my css styling is based on using <p> tags.
Hope somebody can shed some light on this.
regards,
Mike Davies

Re: Pasting without styling
I have partially sorted the first issue, as the text can be pasted using the 'Paste as text' button. I hadn't seen this as I usually just Ctrl V to paste. However this doesn't completely solve the problem. An example :- i paste a block of text of say 3 paragraphs. The text is inserted as 1 <div> block with <br /><br /> at the end of each paragraph instead of 3 separate paragraphs.
This still does not address the use of <div> instead of <p>. Is it possible to change this?

Re: Pasting without styling
FCKConfig.EnterMode can be set to div, p or br. but also note that this file can be overridden by my_config/my_fckconfig.js.
