Since version 2.6, the editor generates tags rather than 's. This is fine, but it does not appear to be consistent with the behavior of the Paste function.
If I paste in some formatted text from an Outlook email, and then use the Source button to examine the resulting content, the bolded content is enclosed in tags. And although on selecting this text the 'B' toolbar button is enabled, suggesting that the editor knows the text is bold, it is not possible to 'unbold' the text. Clicking the 'B' toolbar button does nothing.
I also tried the 'Paste from Word' option, but this has the same problem. So the only option is to 'Paste as Text', and then re-format the text.
This seems to be a bug to me. Surely if the editor is using tags to bold text, this should be applied to pasted text as well?
Interestingly, the same issue does not apply to pasted content. Although it is pasted into the editor as 's, the 'I' toolbar button can be used to convert it back to non-italic text.
Does anybody know a way around this? Alternatively, how would I go about changing the editor behavior back to generating tags.
Thanks
