Not supported characters ?

I just installed FCKeditor on my (mambo) site, but it seems that it cant handle foreign characters...
I have my site in Swedish language and use Loudmouth forum,
If I edit or add something in adminconsol (backend) using Swedish characters , , they dont show up right. But adding a post in the forum with Swedish characters from Frontend does not have this problem. Can this be fixed ?

I have the same problem using the spellchecker option (ASpell) in French.

I tried to replace everywhere utf-8 with iso8859-1, but as soon as there is a or ^ it transforms the text in nithing with a part encoded in utf 8 and another in using iso 8859-1.

You see, even using french is a problem. Actualy, as soon as you use other character than those from us_ASCII, you get problems!

Why there is no way to choose the encoding charset ?

I have the same problem, but i SOLVED replacing all utf-8 to ISO-8859-1 in the folder. U used the dreamweaver tool replace to do it in a fashion time.

Hi,
I have a similar problem.

My application involves traslation of texts in different languages.For this purpose,a popup is opened from the main window which opens the FCKeditor.The value entered in the editor is then sent back to the parent window textfield.However when I use danish or any other characters, they are replaced with their representation.For eg. 'æ' is replaced with '&aelig'.When the editor is now opened again,this value '&aelig' is again displayed as 'Atilde'.
How can I retain the original characters???

Pls help....Would really appreciate any help I can get.
