Hey all,
I'm trying to have a page running multiple FCKEditors in separate boxes, and the toolbar running in an out-of-frame location. These are the things I came down to so far:
1) Creating a different editor instance for each edit area is snail-slow: I get 20s setup time for a page with 5 editors.
2) Considering the Out: location, there is the builtin functionality of recycling the editor object, thus speeding things up considerably. However, this does not support different CSS classes/files for the different areas, so it's only so useful when you have all the edit areas running the same styles. Not my case.
3) Although this editor object recycling works quite well cross-frame, the actual editor object still resides in the frame that employs the edit area, so having a separate frame for the toolbar doesn't help, you need to create the editor(s) from scratch any time you do navigation.
Someone please tell me, is there some way I don't see for having a page with 5 editor areas that ABSOLUTELY NEED different styles load in a decent time? Will sure appreciate the comments.
Thanks,
Dinu
