Language files

Hi I am aware that we can add languages to the FCKEditor by adding js files under the lang directory.
I was wondering whether there is some other way this could be handled. I just was thinking that
instead of putting the files in lang directory i can put it under some other directory and may be link the FCKEditor
to it. Is this possible? Can a path be set somewhere to allow us to do is?
