Insert HTML-code on cursor position?

I'd like to prepare some "code snippets" for my FCK users, eg. tables with alternating background colors or styles.

How can I insert a certain block of code at cursor position, from "outside" the fckeditor iframe?

It should work somehow with javascript, perhaps you have any idea?
