Hi,
I've searched for answers to this problem and looked at the various solutions but none of them help.
I've installed fckeditor2.6.4 on a server, and although the editor appears, when I click the upload image or link button the window appears and the loading animation just continues indefinitely.
I've used it before on a different server and it worked fine. In fact to check I copied the fckeditor folder from the working server to the new one to see if there was something wrong with the installation, but the same thing occurs.
I work in safari on mac generally, so I tried it in firefox and same thing occurs. I checked error log and although there are some parsing errors they are exactly the same as those that occur on the working server version.
So I can only assume that there is something about the new server that stops it working, but what could it be ? Are there any special requirements for the server(the docs don't seem to mention anything apart from the obvious need for php etc). Or is there something the hosting company might have disabled that makes this happen.
Thanks.
Mick

Re: Image/link dialogs Hanging Server Issue ?
still not resolved, but in fact every function that uses the floating window(spellchecker/special characters etc) hangs on the loading animation after the window appears.
Just tried it in IE in XP and the same thing happens, but it wont let me close the floating window, I get the following errors
Line: 415
Char: 3
Error: Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus.
Code:0
URL:domain/fckeditor/editor/fckdialog.html
line 415 is this
$( 'btnCancel' ).focus() ;
Line: 773
Char: 1
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
Code:0
URL:domain/fckeditor/editor/fckdialog.html
line 773 is this
<div id="closeButton" onclick="Cancel();"></div>
(those might not be right commands - textwrangler may number lines differently)
Maybe that will help someone spot what's going wrong.

Re: Image/link dialogs Hanging Server Issue ?
The problem only appears on my IE 6.0.2800.1106 .
Firefox works well but I must use this specific IE version.
Re: Image/link dialogs Hanging Server Issue ?
I am using the latest version of FCK on a linux server.
The weird thing is I copied the exact fckeditor folder from an existing site (same server) onto this one and it works for the other domain but not this domain, nothing is different between the two.
Very strange.
Re: Image/link dialogs Hanging Server Issue ?
I had this MOD REWRITE RULE in place and as soon as I took it out the boxes stopped hanging, put it back in and they hung again.
RewriteRule gal(.*)/(.*)\.html$ /gallery.php?g=$1&title=$2
Re: Image/link dialogs Hanging Server Issue ?
I came to the office and it worked! Yesterday I tried it on different PCs and it always made the wiki hang...
Now it works....
