I noticed a problem with IE 8 and setting FCKConfig.DocType = '<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">' ;
The problem is that in the popup of link insert/update the tabs are not show or not working. Also the OK button doesn't work.
When i replace the setting to default (FCKConfig.DocType = '' 
the problem is solved but i want to use this DocType. I have tested this on a clean download of fckeditor.
I solved the problem by telling my client to use the compatibility View setting in IE8.
Is there a solution for this problem with IE8 so my clients don't have to edit the settings of the browser?
