IE and textarea scrollbar padding with no scrollbar present

Hello,

I am using the autogrow plugin with FCKEditor. In IE the textarea expands correctly and the scrollbars disappear since they are not needed. But the text fails to expand into the area that WOULD be taken up by the vertical scrollbar if it were visible. But it's not visible. Is this making sence?

I have attached two images. One shows this padding in IE, the other shows FF with no padding for the scroll bars.



I want to try to get IE to behave like FF in this matter.

Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.
