IE 8 BUG? - Hidden Table Functions

I've tested right now http://www.fckeditor.net/demo in IE8 and I don't see any problem with the context menu

This is definitely an issue with 2.6.4 -- I see it both in the demo pages and on my website after upgrade (both in standards and compatibility modes). Any help would be appreciated!

I should add that I always see the first-level menus and never the second-level menus. For what its worth, this is consistently reproducible on several Vista x86 and x64 machines.

- I only have Vista machines to play with, so can't say about other OS's one way or another.
- I *think* protected mode is on (isnt it by default?)
- Compatibility toggle makes no difference

I've just come into the forum looking for a solution to this. I can at least confirm it's a problem and a new one in 2.6.4

That's on 32 bit Vista, IE8 and the compatibility button doesn't make any difference.

I'll check XP and IE6 on a virtual machine I have handy... It works fine in this setup.

So IE6 is behaving and IE8 isn't. Not sure about IE7.

Oh, and in IE8, if I right-click on the blanked out area where the submenu is supposed to be, it magically appears. Perhaps that is a clue?

There's special code relating to visibility of the context menu in the editor's JavaScript that detects for:
FCKBrowserInfo.IsIE6. FCKBrowserInfo.IsIE7

What happens to these variables for IE8?
