How do you create a Custom Context Menu?

I have a custom plugin for inserting a link which works great. However, when I right-click on a link the standard "Edit Link" context menu is available and pulls up the built-in link editor instead of my custom one.

Can anyone assist in helping me have this call up my custom Edit Link dialog?
