click on the border of the table. You should see several little white square, now you can perform oprations on the table.

White squares yes but the cursor jump always into a cell... i found out when i press CTRL then selecting the top-border i can select a whole table...

that means that you are using Firefox.

This is not possible with Firefox. The browser itself should offer this feature, and currently only IE do that.
