I am using FCKEditor in my HTML+Javascript project running locally in my flash disk. I hope I can use FCKEditor to create HTML files; however, the save command in FCKeditor will post the content to an ASP file running in a server. That is not the function I need. I want it to open a File Chooser Window locally, like when we press the PRINT icon.
I tried to modify fck_gecko.js under _source\internal by adding "save" item, but failed. Are there further modifications needed somewhere? Please kindly teach me. Thanks a lot.
FCK.RedirectNamedCommands =
{
Print : true,
Save : true,
Paste : true,
Cut : true,
Copy : true
} ;
// ExecuteNamedCommand overload for Gecko.
FCK.ExecuteRedirectedNamedCommand = function( commandName, commandParameter )
{
switch ( commandName )
{
case ´Print´ :
FCK.EditorWindow.print() ;
break ;
case ´Save´ :
FCK.EditorWindow.save() ;
break ;

RE: How to change SAVE function?
If you want to use the editor this way, you should really use an editor like NVU.

Maybe you're interested in Corbin Hoenes' effort of trying to get 'FCKeditor running on the desktop', see:
