Searched the forum for this solution....and while I was able to find a PHP related solution, I had to figure out how to implement this in ASP. So I'd like to share my knowledge (and learn better if a better way exists).
How To Define "Page Specific" Directories For The Default Image Upload and Browser (FCKEditor 2.6.3)
Step One:
Open the file config.asp located at /fckeditor/editor/filemanager/connectors/asp/config.asp
Step Two:
Add a session variable (or some type of security) that will prevent unauthorized access to this page. If you do not...anyone familiar with FCKeditor can access this page and upload files to your server.
Step Three:
Enable the upload config - change configIsEnabled=false to true
Step Four:
Create a session variable at the top of the page, such as session("basePath") = "<your upload directory>" - in my case, this is a directory called u_images so for me it's session("basePath") = "/u_images/"
Note: the opening / and ending / are important
Step Five:
Edit ConfigUserFilesPath = "/userfiles/" changing it to ConfigUserFilesPath = session("basePath") & session("pagePath")
Note: the session("basePath") is the base upload directory...the session("pagePath") we'll set on the individual pages where we call a FCKeditor so that we can upload to and browse specific directories. For instance, if you want to upload images to /u_images/newsimages/ or to /u_images/photogallery/ we'll be setting the sub directories in an upcoming step.
Step Six:
While you're still on config.asp, scroll to the page bottom and find:
ConfigFileTypesPath.Add "Image", ConfigUserFilesPath & "image/" change this to ConfigFileTypesPath.Add "Image", ConfigUserFilesPath or simply "comment" out the original and add the new one. You'll probably want to do this for Files, Images, Flash, and Media. So just remove the & "image/" or & "flash/" from the ends of each.
Step Seven:
Save the config.asp and upload
Step Eight:
Go to the page you've included FCKeditor on and add a session for the pagePath we mentioned in step five.
session("pathPath") = "newsimages/"
Note: on this session, notice you leave off the start / since it's on the end of the original session variable we set /u_images/.
An example of my page code:
<%
session("pagePath") = "newsimages/"
Dim oFCKeditor
Set oFCKeditor = New FCKeditor
oFCKeditor.BasePath = "/fckeditor/"
oFCKeditor.Value = newsText 'this is your field you're replacing with FCKeditor
oFCKeditor.Create "FCKeditor1"
%>
You're Done!
