I am using ASP.NET 2.0. I've installed FCKeditor and followed all the instructions. I can upload images in my development environment because I can place UserFiles folder in my web root. I can’t upload or view my images in production. I believe it’s because I don’t have the UserFiles folder in the web root. I can’t place this folder in the web root because the site is hosted on a shared server and I only have access to my web folder. I received the following error: XML request Error: Internal Server Error(500). I was getting this in development, but once I move the folder to the web root it worked. I have the following in my web.config file:
<appSettings>
<add key="FCKeditor:UserFilesPath" value="/Wherever/UserFiles/" />
</appSettings>
I tried changing the value attribute above, but I still can’t view my images or upload new ones. Is it possible to place the UserFiles folder in a location other than the web root? If so, I do I get this to work?
Thanks,
James

RE: Help!!! UserFiles not working w/ASP.NET 2
For whatever its worth, here's how I'm using FCKEditor:
- in web.config:
<add key="FCKeditor:UserFilesPath" value="/paProgram/FCKEditor/files/" />
- in aspx page where editor is initialized:
<FCKEDITORV2:FCKEDITOR id="FCKeditor1" runat="server" EnableViewState="False" BasePath="/paprogram/FCKeditor/" />
What do you get by running the test page? (FCKEditor/editor/filemanager/browser/default/connectors/test.html)
RE: Help!!! UserFiles not working w/ASP.NET 2.0
What user did you give read, write and modify permission? ASPNET/NETWORK SERVICES or IUSR<ComputerName>? I'm not sure if I have my permission properly set.
Thanks,
James

Do you have to place the UserFiles in your application root? It looks like you placed it in /paProgram/FCKEditor/files/?

I've been looking for anything else out of the ordinary, and trying to remember what solved the problem for me, but nothing so far.. What sort of results did you get from the test page?
RE: Help!!! UserFiles not working w/ASP.NET 2.0
System.Security.SecurityException: System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission
Does anyone have any ideas?

Since you are using 2.0 you could try the path with "~" - which means path from your application, not from web root.
<add key="FCKeditor:UserFilesPath" value="~/Wherever/UserFiles/" />
Probably "Wherever" is not a web application in the root of IIS, that's the problem, ~ solves it. I just managed to sort the same problem using sessions - http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php? ... _id=257180
