HELP with styles or XML path

I've posted once on this but have gotten no response or help with it. Someone out there please help!.. I'm stuck.

I installed the version 2 package into the default path (/FCKeditor) on my localhost testbed, and my remote Apache/PHP server

I get a javascript error
Error Loading /FCKeditor/fckstyles.xml
In both places

I've tried adjusting FCKConfig.TemplatesXmlPath, and oFCKeditor.BasePath to make
sure they map. The file in question is definitely there.
In FireFox I get some additional information from the javascript console.

Error: this.DOMDocument has no properties

Line: 22

Of course this file has been singled so it can't really be read by line number,
or function to track down the offending command. or path var

I've also tried cleaning the comments out of the xml file (I figured those may be breaking the balance of the xml)

There is something really basic and stupid I'm missing here. Can some one please
clue in this clueless old code-munger
