Hello everyone!
I am eager to use the editor for my website, but I do not know how to get it to work properly. I uploaded all files, but I can only get it to work in "demo" mode, which is useless for me since I cannot save anything to my site.
The documentation on the project's homepage is useful only for the "demo", since it says that after uploading the files, you should go to http://<your-site>/FCKeditor/_samples/default.html
Could anyone help me with what else I have to do now?
I am willing to discuss it also via e-mail, asitnik at yahoo dot com
Thanks in advance!

RE: HELP: I uploaded the files, now what?
The documentation is unclear and insufficient. I managed, after much trial and error, to create a page with the editor (with the same features as the first example of the demo). It still does not allow me to save any forms created, and it also tells me that the picture uploader is disabled. I guess it is easier to look for another editor that has more user-friendly documentation and ease of setup, even if i lose some features (a good example of that is the webwiz rich text editor, from http://www.webwizguide.info/asp/sample_ ... cation.asp )
RE: HELP: I uploaded the files, now what?
There are some definite areas, however, where it is sorely lacking and documentattion is definitely on the list. I don't consider the Wiki to be sufficient, and obviously I'm not alone in that regard.
Has anyone considered offering paid installation and/or support for this product? In the same way that companies like Red Hat offer paid flavours of Linux that increase acceptance by assuring competent support when needed, offering a version of FCKeditor with professional support options might actually increase its adotpion, and act as a revenue stream to support further development.
Unfortunately, I'm basicallya complete noob with this product, and couldn't begin to offer the level of expertise necessary. But surely there are others who could. Any takers?

FCK is not a full CMS system, it is a feature that can be included into your own CMS system.
What web environment are you trying to use. ASP, PHP, perl etc?
RE: HELP: I uploaded the files, now what?
All I want is to create a page that would allow me to create content and upload it to the server, thereby working online and not needing a locally-installed editor. My server supports ASP, ASP.NET, Perl, PHP, CGI-Bin, and FrontPage extensions.
As I pointed out in the link to http://www.webwizguide.info/asp/sample_ ... cation.asp , can I create such a page on the server that would allow me to do the same thing? If so, how can I have FCK also give me the options of changing languages, toolbar options etc in real working mode, not in "demo look-alike" without real functionality?
