French Characters disappearing

I have a cms which uses fckeditor(which is awesome), the problem is there are other feilds on the page that are required, other than just the textarea that holds the fckeditor. The problem is that fckEditor is removing the special chars from feilds other than the fckEditor area.
These other feilds are used for such things as page title, navigation title, etc...

I don't see how that would work, Jayham. FCKeditor only affects the fckeditor text box, not the other textareas or input fields on the page. Maybe if you provided us with an example and more information, we might be able to help.

I've just noticed that I'm getting the same problem with spanish characters (á, é, í, ó, ú) and also these ones: º, ª, etc.

I'm using latest version of FCKEditor.

I really hope there is a solution because I am trying to implement this into a CMS that has both a french and english site. If anyone has a temporary or quick fix it would be greatly appreciated

Ah yes, that would explain why I wasn't able to reproduce it. I have users with french text and never had a problem thanks to UTF8. Make sure your DB and app servers are also UTF8 enabled, of course.
