FCK is working fine on my MSIE6, but not Firefox.
On Firefox 1.0.6 and the latest FCK it looks like it works and pulls up the the page from the db, but the editor goes read-only and cannot be changed, but the cursor can be moved. Backspace and Delete don't do anything. If I highlight some text and click the Cut button I get the following message:
Your browser security settings don't permit the editor to automatically execute cutting operations. Please use the keyboard for that (Ctrl+X).
I have looked all through Firefox options and don't see any settings that would matter, and both my MSIE and FF are both set to their standard defaults. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks! DC

RE: FireFox won't allow editing
If I go to the end of the text and enter some text, THEN it allows me to edit the editor contents, looks like if only gets out of read-only mode when I enter some text first.
I am using Mozilla Firefox/1.0.6, and with me, in IE it works well too.
RE: FireFox won't allow editing
I played some more and noticed that after first loading my page when I click in the editor window Del and Backspace don't work, but I can enter text. Once a character is entered anywhere the editor starts to work fine. I suspect this is also the problem the CTRL-A guy posted before I ran into this different version of what is probably the same problem. It also might be why the print button is not enabled. I think a good fix would be to have the editor start with the cursor in the text editor and get focus. That would fix the print button. A crappy way to fix the other problems would be to insert a space and then delete it after placing the cursor, but maybe FCK or one of the other js gurus will figure out a better way

Re: FireFox won't allow editing
The problem I am having is ONLY in firefox, and it seems to be associated, with SPRY panels, or any other "accordian" function, using javascript to hide panels.
Of course, it works great in IE, but no one wants to use IE do they?
Why would fckEditor every be read only? Whats the point of having a read only editor?
Surely, the error is in fckEditor, and not in firefox, since a crappy browser like IE can read it?
Re: FireFox won't allow editing
* install firebug in firefox and it will show you errors on the page.
I am having another problem and I am using myself, I hope this helps someone.
