Unfortunately the only browsers that offer the ability of content editing are Internet Explorer 5+ over Windows operating systems.
In any case the editor integration modules, actually available in JavaScript, ASP, ASP.NET and PHP, automatically switch the editor in a normal TEXTAREA if the browser is not compatible. It gives to developers a secure and easy way to use the editor.
We have a client that needs something like this and we cannot find a wysiwyg editor like this that works with macs (other than one that is flash based). I would like to tell them why they need to swtich to a pc....any thoughts?
Ill start working on a Mozilla compatible version of FCKeditor as soon as version 1.0 will be release. But there is a lot of work to do for that, so you cant expect it to be available soon.
I think you can evaluate HTMLarea v.3.0[http://www.interactivetools.com/products/htmlarea/] to solve your problem. Your users have to use Mozilla 1.3+ on their Mac. The program is good (not as good as FCKeditor) and free...
