I have FCKEditor installed in several sites, both on my local dev server and live sites. I've been using FCK for years now, and have not changed anything in the sites. Suddenly today in Firefox, instead of the editor appearing I get a big blank space - not even a plain textarea appears. Same thing happens even if I go to the "Demo" page on the FCK site - blank space. I cleared my cache a dozen times, restarted Firefox over and over, and rebooted my computer twice. Nothing changes.
I am running Firefox 3 on Windows Vista Home. The only add-ons I have running are Google Toolbar, Alexa, Html validator, and S3 Firefox organizer. The Error Console displays a whole series of errors starting with "FCKconfig is not defined".
With Internet Explorer 7, the same sites display FCKeditor fine.
Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be because of an FF or Windows patch or upgrade? Or an add-on upgrade?

Re: FCKEditor suddenly not working in Firefox 3
On my setup FF is out and IE7 I can't even login. Totaly useless. I've been at it for a couple of days now reinstalling and nothing.
I noticed that my firewall is blocking an intrussion attempt everytime I try to login, so there may be some nasty virus going on.
Re: FCKEditor suddenly not working in Firefox 3
I have the same issue in Firefox. However, I am getting a Norton Security Message.
It says "An intrusion attempt by <domain> was blocked. Application path..."
Risk Name: HTTP Acrobat PDF Suspicious File Download
Risk Level: High
This same norton message happens in both IE7 and Firefox3
Please! Does anyone know what is causing this, or how to get this to work again. I will try going to Norton support, but it appears others are having this problem and are not getting the Norton warning.

Re: FCKEditor suddenly not working in Firefox 3
I've tried disabling all my plugins, but that didn't help. Also, since IE on the same computer works for me, I doubt I have a system-wide issue related to a software firewall or Norton, but I suppose it's possible.
With the exception that I can get the older version of FCKeditor to appear as well as the FCKeditor Demo page, it sounds like I have the same issue as the original poster. What could have changed between those versions?
Any other ideas?
Re: FCKEditor suddenly not working in Firefox 3
The FCKeditor interface shows up, but what ever I have put into the $FCKeditor->Value variable in PHP doesn't show up! I've checked the source code which was received by Firefox, and that is fine, but it seems that the hidden field which holds the content then gets emptied of content (because the content is not there in Firebug). Everything is fine in Safari (I will test in IE at some point also...)
Please fix this soooon!!!!!!
Isaac

Fix what?
do you have a testcase?
Re: FCKEditor suddenly not working in Firefox 3
FCKEditor no longer appeared in the Send Message page in PHPList. I tried in Firefox 3, IE7, Safari, all no-go.
Help on this subject using the PHPList support forum was not very detailed, no complaints from me about this - just reporting my experience. One suggestion included changing the php.ini file. I couldn't find this anywhere despite searching for more than an hour. I attempted another fix as suggested on the PHPList support forum, but this was unsuccessful.
Another suggestion was to switch off FCKEditor and install TinyMCE, which I attempted with success. TinyMCE is working fine in PHPList 2.10.9.
I took the path of least resistance...
